Underground and Overhead Service Mains Works

Batemans Bay Residential, Commercial, Industrial & Level 2 Electrician.

An overhead service main is an aerial cable connecting you to the network via your Point of Attachment (POA). An underground service connects you to the network via the closest service pillar (those little green boxes in the street) and there are no visible wires. An underground service is often preferred for its neater appearance, while eliminating the risk of cables being damaged by storms, fires, high wind or falling branches.

A UGOH connection is when the power in your street comes from overhead poles, but you want your supply to be underground to avoid the look and potential hazards of aerial cables, or you are not permitted to run an overhead service due to council restrictions. Your Local Level 2 ASP - L2 Electrical – is licenced to instal your UGOH by running power down the pole and to your home or commercial property. Get in touch for a free assessment!
